15 text snippets that save time every day (with copy-paste templates)

The best snippets are the things you already type every week. Here are fifteen that pay for themselves quickly, each ready to paste into Textfold — or adapt for any text expander.

By Jeyanth Kanagaraju · Updated

Each example is a complete Textfold snippet file: save it as a .txt file in your snippets folder, or paste the part below the --- into a new snippet in the editor. Placeholders like {date+7d} and {field:Name} are explained in the documentation. The free plan covers 10 snippets, so pick your favorites first.

Tips for a snippet library that lasts

  • Start abbreviations with ; so they never fire by accident, and keep them short and guessable: ;addr beats ;a1.
  • Group snippets by where you use them — Email, Support, Code — so the list stays easy to scan.
  • Forgot one? Press ⌃⌥Space in Textfold to search every snippet by name or content, then press Return to insert it.
  • Review your list once a month: delete what you don't use, and turn repeated replies into new snippets.
